Earlier this Spring, My children and I headed downtown to the Westin Ottawa, to enjoy a private screening of the first episode of season three of Dragons: Race to the Edge and the Voltron with our friends from Netflix & Netflix Canada.
There were snacks, colouring pages and welcoming place for all the families, but there was something else. Each time I attend an Ottawa-centric event with Netflix I feel a closer connection to the other #StreamTeam members. This is not to say we are all BFF’s and braid each other’s hair, no something more reserved but respectful.
Each #StreamTeam member has a successful niche outside of our small #StreamTeam community. Today as I chatted and slid effortlessly from conversation to conversation, I realised the powerhouse of social media prowess we hold within our cohort. Every one of the nine social media families that attended has an area of expertise that they hold court over. I further came to the understanding that supporting each other should be a focus of mine.
After we watched Dragons: Race to the Edge, we snacked on dragon themed snacks, coloured, took pictures by the Netflix posters and thoroughly enjoyed our time with our Ottawa Netflix #StreamTeam members.
We were also treated to the opening episode of Voltron.
Formed by five robotic lions, the mighty warrior known as Voltron returns after 10,000 years to protect the universe from evil. Explore the infinite reaches of space when VOLTRON: LEGENDARY DEFENDER debuted on Netflix, June 10th 2016.
After a long day at the beach, pool or cottage snuggling up on the couch with Beckett as he explains why Toothless is his favourite dragon or how the Black Lion is the strongest is my favourite quiet summer activity.
