During the month of September, we head back to school and back to our after school activities. It starts off with a few practices and turns into a hectic weekly schedule that moves at breakneck speed.
We also celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and prepare for the NHL hockey season to start. During our quiet times, we often find a nook in the house and watch a family friendly show we can all enjoy. Last year we finally, after 13 years, took down our crib and created a space upstairs to enjoy our Netflix time. On the small screen, we often watch a series like Once Upon a Time or Murdock Mysteries.
On Fall evenings that feel like Summer nights, we set up our old projector and watch movies outside for a special treat. Our outdoor movie calls for walkable treats and sweet delights to the evening and a simple movie turns into a childhood right of passage. An outdoor movie calls for an epic movie like Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. There is nothing more I love than spending the evening with Mr. Depp.
An outdoor movie calls for walkable treats and sweet delights. My three loved Walking Tacos and Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Sandwiches. My three enjoy making both of these family favorites outside and eating them outside, which means less mess in the house. Less mess makes me happy especially after a relaxing evening of fun with movie-loving friends.
I hope everyone’s September has been an excellent transition back to school & the Fall routine.
