In seven short weeks the Christmas and holiday festivities will begin. Our family has many Christmas traditions including trimming the tree, volunteering at our church for the annal bazaar and creating our family themed Christmas cards.

One tradition, which began while my husband and I were dating, has been the unwrapping and building of a Kinder Surprise Maxi on Christmas morning. Our Christmases, at that time, were smaller affairs with just the two of us and we had a very small budget for gifts. I will never forget our first Kinder Surprise Maxi experience, we laughed at the sheer size of the large yellow capsule. Jeff and I, alone in front of our little Christmas tree, snapped together pieces, placed stickers and were in awe of the yellow sail boat we created from first egg.

Our current traditions include traditional Kinder Surprise Eggs as decorations on our Christmas tree and Kinder Mini Eggs as stocking stuffers. Santa Claus (yes, we believe) also brings our three Kinder loving kids a Kinder Surprise Maxi each year as a special gift. Over the years we have built, played with and enjoyed our Kinder family tradition together on Christmas morning. Isn’t that what what the holidays are all about? Spending time with one another, disconnected from the rest of the world while reconnecting with the family members?

Long before I was blogging, Kinder Surprises were part of our Christmas family traditions. I hope when my children have families of their own they will continue with our family traditions.

For the first time this year, we will add another tradition to our holiday festivities. We will be celebrating with our first ever Kinder Advent calendar. The Advent calendars will be available as of November 15th, 2014. The kids and I are looking forward to a chocolate Kinder treat each morning.
