In a two short weeks, the winter holidays will be here. There will be no lunches to make, no buses to catch or homework to complete. However, our Christmas holidays are anything but relaxing.
Each of the three mini-me’s are have athletic commitments during the break this year. Meaning that in between the Christmas parties, visits to southern Ontario and pictures with Santa at the mall, we will also be heading to a hockey tournament, a gymnastics camp and several swim meet practicals.

I need all the help I can get to save time during this busy part of the year. One of my “go-to” products this Christmas season is Bastile. In 2014, I was introduced to Bastile dry shampoo while attending Blissdom Canada. If you wear a helmet for any sport, you will absolutely understand my pain of matted, damp, helmet hair after playing hockey or going for a skate. I can literally go from hockey helmet hair to coffee date ready in a matter of minutes with this product.
When we travel as a family, one my biggest pet peeves is what gets left behind or forgotten. We have a huge issue with toothbrushes and toothpaste vanishing into thin air. I personally blame the Elf on the Shelf, but I digress. Each Christmas morning my children open their stockings and find a new toothbrush and toothpaste. I keep the new toothbrushes and toothpaste in my purse as we travel to and from our various relative’s homes. This way, our original toothbrushes & toothpaste stay at home and are ready to be used when the kids and I return from our holiday adventures.
Several Christmases ago, the kids and I were crossing the border heading into New York state for a swim camp. The two littlest Guthrie’s were slumbering in their car seat, when my then 7 year old KT, whispered, “Mommy, my tummy feels funny.” Seconds later, her regurgitated banana and warm apple juice splashed across the back of neck. Yes, it was as gross as it sounded. Since that little episode, we usually begin our holiday travels with a dose of Gravol with ginger to avoid a similar smelly situation. Interestingly, Gravol is only sold in Canada and I found out the hard way!
